Terms of Service

1. What RouteFile is
RouteFile is a service that stores files you upload and lets you share them via a link. You stay the owner of your files. We host them on your behalf so you can send them to other people.
2. Your account
You need a working email and a password to use RouteFile. You're responsible for keeping your password secret and for whatever happens on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has gotten in.
3. What you can upload
You can upload any file you have the right to share. You can't upload anything illegal, anything designed to harm computers, anything you don't own or have permission to share, or sexual content involving minors. We may remove files reported under these terms and may close accounts that repeatedly break them.
4. What we do with your files
We store your files so we can serve them when someone visits your share link. We don't read, sell, or train AI models on them. We make backups so they don't get lost. Files stay until you delete them or your account expires, with one exception: on the Free plan, files older than 7 days may be cleaned up automatically.
5. Plans, payment, and the Free tier
The Free tier is free. Paid plans are in private beta and aren't open yet. When they open, they'll be invoiced monthly or yearly and you can cancel any time. We don't silently auto-renew at higher rates.
6. Service availability
We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee zero downtime. RouteFile is provided "as is" — we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses from a hiccup. If our service is genuinely broken for an extended period and you're on a paid plan, contact us about service credits.
7. Reporting abuse
If a RouteFile link is hosting something illegal or infringes your rights, email abuse@routefile.com with the link and a short description. We respond within 72 hours.
8. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We'll remove your files within 30 days. We can close your account if you repeatedly break these terms; we'll tell you why.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that meaningfully affects your account, we'll email you first. Continuing to use RouteFile after a change means you accept it.
